The Yoga pose Crow is a moderate inverted balancing posture, which builds strength in the upper extremities (arms, forearms, elbow joints, hands, wrists, clavicle, and scapula) and gives you the confidence to begin work with the Headstand and the Handstand. The Crow pose requires courage (to risk falling on your nose) and hip flexibility (to bring the thighs alongside the chest).

Class Description

Foundations : This class is excellent for beginners but also ideal for those interested in deepening their knowledge and understanding of yoga. Learn healthy postural alignment using methodologies and techniques drawn from the Iyengar and Anusara lineage. Class topics will include intelligent sequencing of yoga postures, an accessible and playful understanding of body alignment and how it relates to stress, basic breathing techniques, and deep relaxation.

Yoga 102 : This is for students with minimal yoga experience.

Gentle Hatha: Balance your mind,body and spirit using traditional Hatha (sun/moon) Yoga techniques. Each class includes meditation to clear the mind, stretching and strengthening for a healthy body, and deep relaxation to nourish your soul. Let Tuesday morning be an oasis in your week. Abby's individual instruction creates a safe place for you to explore and let go.

Restorative Yoga : Learn to let go and surrender with restorative yoga. This style of yoga utilizes props to facilitate relaxation and stress reduction thereby releasing muscular tension and improving flexibility. Restorative yoga poses poses set up external conditions that foster a deep inner release. If we allow ourselves the space to get out of our own way, relaxation spontaneously and effortlessly arises from within.

Anusara Inspired TM: Anusara Yoga blends an elegant, accessible and effective system of alignment principles with an intention to connect each student with their highest intentions. Classes cultivate a supportive, friendly community of practitioners who support one another's efforts and successes.  In each class, we emphasize a practice that works the physical body without losing sight of the transformative potential of yoga to touch all levels of our being.

Iyengar: Methodical in its approach, precise in its alignment, and sensitive to the needs of the individual, Iyengar yoga is the hallmark of depth, intelligence and ingenuity. Open to all levels, Sheila’s style offers a well-balanced blend of meditation, teaching of asana, and relaxation.
